Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information the MoneyEdu.kids games and website collect, how that information is used, and the choices you have. Because the games are made for children, we have designed the Service to collect as little information as possible. Please read the section on children's privacy below.

1. About this policy and who we are

MoneyEdu.kids (the "Service," "we," "us," or "our") is a set of educational financial-literacy games for children ages 7 to 12. The Service is operated by Decision Partners LLC and is offered to you through a financial institution (your "credit union" or "financial institution") that licenses it as part of its member-education program. If your financial institution provides its own privacy policy, that policy also governs your relationship with the institution; this policy covers the MoneyEdu.kids Service itself.

2. Our approach: privacy by design

The Service is built to be played by a child together with a parent or another trusted adult. It requires no account, no sign-in, and no login. It never asks a child, or anyone, to enter a name, email address, photo, location, or other personal detail, and it has no free-text fields, no chat, and no social features. We do not show third-party advertising, we do not sell or rent information, and we do not use information to build advertising profiles of children.

3. Information the games do not collect

The games themselves do not collect personal information. A child's progress, badges, and settings are saved only in the browser's local storage on the device being used. This information stays on the device, is not transmitted to us, and can be cleared at any time by clearing the browser's site data.

4. Information our servers automatically log

Like nearly all websites, our web servers automatically record standard technical information each time a page is requested. This typically includes the device's IP address, the type of browser and device, the pages and files requested, the date and time of the request, and the page that referred the visitor.

We use this information only to operate, maintain, and secure the Service - for example, to deliver pages, keep the Service running correctly, diagnose problems, prevent fraud and abuse, measure aggregate traffic, and comply with the law. We do not use these records to identify individual children, to contact anyone, or for advertising, and we do not combine them with other personal information.

Under some privacy laws, an IP address is treated as personal information. Where that is the case, we collect and use it only to support the internal operations of the Service as described above, and we maintain reasonable safeguards designed to ensure these identifiers are not used for any other purpose.

5. Cookies and local storage

The Service uses the following, and does not use advertising or cross-site tracking:

• Local storage (on the device). Used to save game progress and settings on the device, as described in Section 3.
• A functional preference cookie ("customercode"), where used. This cookie remembers which financial institution's branding and content to display, so that the Service works correctly when you reach it directly rather than through your institution's link. It is strictly functional, stays on your device, is not used for advertising, and does not track you across other websites.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking the functional cookie may mean the Service cannot determine which institution's version to show, and may direct you to a page asking you to check your link.

6. How we use information

We use the limited information described above to operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service; to diagnose and fix problems; to prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; to understand aggregate usage; and to meet legal, regulatory, and law-enforcement obligations. We do not use information for targeted advertising, and we do not sell or rent it.

7. How information is shared

We share information only as needed to run the Service and as required by law:

• Service providers who host and operate the Service on our behalf and are bound to protect the information and use it only to provide those services.
• Analytics as described in Section 6.
• Your financial institution, which offers the Service to you.
• Legal and safety reasons, where we believe disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the Service.
• Business transfers, in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

We do not disclose children's information to third parties for advertising or for other purposes that are not part of operating the Service.

8. Children's privacy (COPPA)

The Service is directed to children under 13 and is designed to comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). As described above, the games collect no personal information from children. The only information associated with a child's use is the technical server-log data and identifiers described in Sections 4 through 6, which we limit to supporting the internal operations of the Service.

Parents and guardians have the right to review the information associated with their child's use of the Service, to ask us to delete it, and to refuse to permit its further collection or use. Because we do not collect names or contact details, we cannot link server logs to a particular child by identity; if you contact us with relevant details (such as the approximate date, time, and IP address of use), we will work with you to locate and address the information. To make any of these requests, contact us using the details in Section 13.

9. Data retention

We keep server-log information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, such as security, troubleshooting, maintenance of contractual relationships, and legal compliance, and then delete it.

10. Security

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, and we require our service providers to do the same. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect the limited information the Service handles.

11. Your choices and privacy rights

• Cookies and local data: Manage or clear them in your browser settings.
• Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control: Because we do not sell or share personal information for advertising, there is nothing for Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals to opt out of.
• State privacy rights: Depending on where you live (for example, California, Connecticut, and other states with privacy laws), you may have rights to access, delete, correct, or limit the use of personal information, and to appeal a decision. As outlined in Section 4, we only collect basic web traffic data that is never tied to an individual identity. To exercise a right, contact us using Section 14.

12. Where the Service is offered; changes to this policy

The Service is intended for users in the United States. We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
